9/12/11 - Underage Presentation Night
On Friday night the club celebrated the efforts of our very talented underage players. A big crowd of players, mentors and parents were in attendance and there was a great buzz in the lounge. A summary of the Under 12 season for the boys was given by Sean Gordon, Sean thanked the boys for their effort this year and encouraged them to continue to improve their skills and become the best they can be. Next Claire Daly spoke of a very successful year for the Under 12 girls team, 7 wins out 7 matches played, the girls will help to keep ladies football alive in our club. Under 14 mentor Jarlath Farrell then took to the stage to recap on a great year for the Under 14 boys, joint 2nd in the league and runners up in the championship. Again the boys were applauded for their work this year and were presented with training tops (sponsored by their mentors) to acknowledge the commitment given in 2011. Our junior scor participants were then congratulated for their achievements this year, especially the novelty act who are county champions. PJ Farrell (Cultural Officer) thanked the Rice and McNally families for their contribution to scor in St. Bronagh's GAA. Last team of the evening to be celebrated were the all conquering Under 16 boys team - South Down League and championship winners and All County champs also, as well as runners up in the recent Paul McGirr Ulster competition. Team manager Aidan Murray commented on the great success the team has had this year and appealed to the boys to continue to progress and strive to play senior football for the reds, to use their success as a stepping stone to greater things at minor and senior level. Down player Mark Poland was special guest on the night and presented the various medals and individual awards. Mark spoke highly of our club and was more than impressed with the efforts of all our teams in 2011. The evening ended with the scor novelty act performing their play 'Class Act' and it lived up to its name, the crowd were treated to a great performance - a great end to a great night. Thanks to all those who contributed to the night, a special word of thanks to Billy, Lilly, Bernie and all the kitchen staff who provided the chicken and chips and to Louis McNally for supplying the photos for the slideshow.

27/11/11 - PAUL MCGIRR MEMORIAL U'16
ULSTER CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL 2011
REDS LOSE OUT IN ULSTER DECIDER AS ROSSA TAKE CHARGE
ROSTREVOR 1-11 - 4-10 O'DONOVAN ROSSA G.A.C. BELFAST
By Kieran McNally

O'Donovan Rossa G.A.C in Belfast is where the Paul McGirr Memorial Cup will
reside for the next twelve months after a powerful third quarter overwhelmed
Rostrevor in Sunday's Ulster final at Gardrum Park in Dromore. The Antrim
champions turned on the style to reel off a critical 2-4 in fifteen second half
minutes, leaving the Reds with too much of a deficit in the closing stages. The
volatile weather conditions ensured that the action on display was quite dogged
with very few opportunities to show the real quality that both sides possess.
However, as a spectacle, the contest was entertaining nonetheless.
Rostrevor started very strongly and were dominant in the opening exchanges; this resulting in the Reds taking the early lead. Conor Doyle, impressive on the afternoon, fired over back-to-back frees to give the Down champions a 0-2 to 0-0 lead by the 7th minute. Indeed, Rostrevor should have been further ahead by this stage with two poor wides leaving the door wide open for Rossa to settle and they punished the Reds on 9 minutes. A dropping free from Sean Smiley appeared to be drifting wide but James Connolly got his hand to it, diverting it invitingly towards Chris McComish who powered to the net to give the Belfast side the lead. Sean Pat Donnelly added a free moments later to place Rossa into a two point lead before Rostrevor answered back to regain the lead.
Another free from Conor Doyle on 15 minutes brought the Reds back into the contest with the same man pouncing four minutes later to give Rostrevor their only goal; sliding in to convert the rebound after his earlier effort had been saved by Domhnall Moran. Rossa battled back to level by the 23rd minute, however, with scores from Chris Boyle and James Connolly leaving the scores at 1-3 each. The sides traded quick scores from Conor Doyle and Deaglan Murphy before Patrick Murray got forward to put the Reds in front again with two minutes remaining in the first half. However, the Belfast boys delivered a hammerblow moments before the short whistle with Gareth George cutting in well from the left side before firing an effort past Declan McAteer after it initially seemed the chance was gone; 2-4 to 1-5 in favour of Rossa at the interval.
HALF TIME - ROSTREVOR 1-05 - 2-04 O'DONOVAN ROSSA

With heavy rainfall in the closing stages of the opening half, Rossa returned
with a change of jerseys after the break and it proved to be a shrewd move from
Colly Murphy and his staff as the Antrim side seemed lighter on their feet
throughout the second period. This was evident with a brace of early points for
the Belfast
side; Sean Pat Donnelly converting two frees. Jordan Fegan, a huge loss at the
outset, fired over after his introduction to give his side some restbite but
Rossa were now on form. Sean Pat Donnelly added another free as the young Reds
continued to struggle with the power-running of Callum McVeigh and Chris
McComish drawing fouls all over the final third. There was more to come from
the Belfast
side too with an arguably critical third goal arriving on 39 minutes; Nathan
Early sending a hefty effort through the fingertips of McAteer in the Rostrevor
net to place his side into a 3-7 to 1-6 lead.
With everything now seemingly going right for O'Donovan Rossa, Gareth George
fired over a monster '45 in the 41st minute to open up an eight point before
the final nail was decisively drilled into Rostrevor's Ulster coffin
for 2011. Sean Pat Donnelly, who top-scored for the victors, weaved his way
through the Reds' defence to plant a low finish in at the near post on 46
minutes to really end the contest at 4-9 to 1-6. Callum McVeigh added a further
point for, now, rampant Rossa before Rostrevor were able to bring themselves
back, to an extent, with five unanswered points to close the deficit back to
seven points; Piaras Kane, Joseph Morgan, Jonathan Connolly and Padraig McGrath
amongst the scores. However, the day belonged to Rossa and Chris Boyle rounded
off an outstanding second half display with the final score entering injury
time; O' Donovan Rossa of Antrim were Ulster's U'16 champions.
ROSTREVOR TEAM; Declan McAteer, Patrick Murray (0-1), Caolan Magee, Padraig
McAteer, Conal Gordon, Paul Morgan, Jonathan Connolly (0-1), Damien Keenan,
Padraig McGrath (0-1), Sean Cooper, Conor Doyle (1-5 4f), James Rowland, Joseph
Morgan (0-1), Piaras Kane (0-1), Ciaran Ferran. Subs used; Jordan Fegan (0-1)
and Aaron Fearon.
MINOR LEAGUE CHAMPIONS

Sat 10/9/11 - McAVOY CONSTRUCTION LLP SOUTH DOWN U'14 CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL
BATTLING REDS FALL SHORT AS SHAMROCKS CLAIM THE SPOILS
ROSTREVOR 4-08 - 3-16 NEWRY SHAMROCKS
By Kieran McNally

Newry Shamrocks completed the league and championship double with a deserved victory over a Rostrevor side that battled bravely to the end at St. Patrick's Park in Mayobridge last Saturday. There is no doubting that the superior strength in the Newry outfit's squad paved the way for this victory. Credit to the young Reds who fought back from ten down in the second half to make a real fight of it and if it wasn't for the woodwork in the second half, the underdogs may have roared back and claimed a memorable victory. It could be argued that the contest was decided in the efficient manner with which the Shamrocks were able to counter and avail of their power up front.
The game started, typically, with both sides attacking from the first whistle and it was Shamrocks who would take the early initiative. BJ McCourt pointed in the 3rd minute before a strong run by Gavin Fox resulted in the game's first goal; Fox firing low to the net. Rostrevor, to a large extent, came into this contest with very little to lose and their response to going behind was excellent. The influential Joseph Morgan soloed through the heart of the Shamrocks' defence to plant the ball past Jack Heaney and bring the Reds back into the contest. Arghal McMahon fired over the equaliser on 6 minutes with further scores from Joseph Morgan and Conal Gordon giving Rostrevor a 1-03 to 1-01 lead within the next two minutes. The Reds' desire to take the sting out of the Shamrocks early meant that they pushed quite high up the field leaving gaps in behind and Shamrocks acted swiftly, on numerous occasions, to take advantage. Conor McKeown found himself right through on Mark Doyle's goal and placed the ball into the corner to give Shamrocks back their lead.
Rostrevor were level moments later though with Blaine McGrath splitting the posts on 10 minutes. Despite this, the Reds were coming under pressure against the all-action forwards in the Newry ranks and Mark Doyle came to their rescue to deny Shane Hanna a definite goal. The net was bulging seconds later, however, when Conor McKeown picked up a loose ball to drill the ball past Doyle; 3-01 to 1-04 in favour of the Shamrocks. The favourites pushed on in the next ten minutes to put themelves in control of the contest with four unanswered points; Dylan Power, Blaine Tumilty and two from the brilliant Conor McKeown putting Shamrocks in a commanding seven point lead by the 20th minute. Once again, though, the Reds stood up to the challenge. Joseph Morgan sent over a free to narrow the gap before Rostrevor landed their second goal. A parried effort from Conor Owens left Arghal McMahon with the easy task of poking the ball home from a few yards out to leave the score at 3-05 to 2-05 approaching the break. Shamrocks were able to regroup and produce the final two points of the half to give themselves a five point lead at the interval; Jordan Murphy and Blaine Tumilty on target for the Newry boys.
HALF TIME - ROSTREVOR 2-05 - 3-07 NEWRY SHAMROCKS
The Reds were effectively put to the sword in the opening stages of the second half as Shamrocks went on the rampage. Rostrevor did manage to open the scoring in the second half but six points in succession had Shamrocks pushing towards the title. Jordan Murphy grabbed two of these with the towering Dylan Power adding three more to his tally as the Reds began to fade well behind their rivals; 3-13 to 2-06. Joseph Morgan got Rostrevor firing again on 43 minutes before the Reds were given an opportunity to get themselves right back into the contest once more. Morgan broke clear in the 45th minute but was stopped in his tracks by a late challenge by Power resulting in a Rostrevor penalty. He opted to take the kick himself but with the keeper well beaten the ball rebounded out off the post and Shamrocks could breathe a sigh of relief. The Newry side pushed back into a ten point lead on 49 minutes through BJ McCourt before the Reds gave themselves a lifeline. Peter Magee received possession deep inside Shamrocks territory, curling the ball perfectly past Jack Heaney, who was rooted to the spot, into the far corner and Rostrevor were seven points down with 10 minutes remaining; 3-14 to 3-07.
Gavin Fox fisted over to extend the lead back out to eight as Shamrocks vitally kept the scoreboard ticking over as Rostrevor threw everything at them. Joseph Morgan sent the ball crashing to the back of the net on 55 minutes to really set up a barnstorming finsh and when the same man added a free with injury time looming, Shamrocks became very nervy as the Reds went in search of a fifth goal that would have close the gap to the minimum. However, a strong finish from the Newry defence and a final point from Jordan Murphy ensured that the Shamrocks would gain the win and add the South Down U'14 championship to their league and Down feile wins this season. It was a gallant display from Rostrevor against the heavy favourites and they can take a lot of heart from the manner in which they fought back against the odds. A lot of credit must also go to the management team of Brendan Connolly, Jarlath Farrell, Martin Daly and Hilary McGrath who gave this young side the necessary belief and preparation to challenge for the highest honours.
ROSTREVOR TEAM; Mark Doyle, Mitchel McAteer, Cormac McGrath, James Donaghy, James Rice, Aaron Fearon, Nicholas Murray, Joseph Morgan (2-4 2f), Blaine McGrath (0-2 1f), Peter Magee (1-0), Arghal McMahon (1-1), Jordan Cooper, Conor Owens, Conal Gordon (0-1). Mon 29/8/11 - Rostrevor U14's 5-10, Clonduff 3-09
The Under 14's qualified for the Championship Final with this hard fought win over Clonduff in the semi final in Pettit Park. In a tough game, there were a few individual performances that stood out. Joseph Morgan was immense in the game and hit 3 goals and 4 points in a stunning display, while Mark Doyle in goals was particularly impressive under the constant high balls which Clonduff played into him. Other noteable mentions must go to Cormac McGrath at full back, James Rice and Peter Magee who all had good outings.
The reds now face the league champions Newry Shamrocks in the Championship final in a game which will take place in the next fortnight.
Rostrevor team: Mark Doyle, Mitchel McAteer, Cormac McGrath, James Donaghy, Tiaran Tinnelly, Aaron Fearon, Nicky Murray, Joseph Morgan, Blaine McGrath, Peter Magee, Arghal McMahon, Jordan Cooper, Conor Owens, Conal Gordan, James Rice.
Sun 21/8/11 - Rostrevor U12's 3-15, Mayobridge 6-11
Rostrevor Under 12's were unlucky not to beat Mayobridge on Sunday as they lost by 5 points (6.11. to 3.15). Rostrevor started off well with early points from Charlie McCartan but Mayobridge had a 3 goal blitz. The switch of Eoin Rice to defence improved things for Rostrevor. Eoin Murdock and Tomas Gordon scored goals to leave the half-time score Mayobridge 4.5 Rostrevor 2.7. Rostrevor played well in the second half with David Corkey scoring a goal and 8 points coming from other players. However, Mayobridge found the net twice in the last ten minutes to win the game. Rostrevor panel: N.Carville, C.Killen, H.Morgan, C.Quinn (0.1), J.Ferrick, T.Gordon (1.3), M.Doyle (0.2), E.Rice, D.Corkey (1.1), E.Murdock (1.1), C.McCartan (0.5), R.Caulfield (0.2).
Thu 18/8/11 - Rostrevor U16's 3-15, Saval 1-07
A strong finish from Rostrevor saw them come out easy winners on the scoreboard against Saval, but in truth this game was far from easy.
With 7 minutes remaining, the scores were 0-14 to 1-7 after Saval scored a penalty to leave them just 4 points behind following a spirited display. However, if the goal was meant to push Saval on further, it just seemed to awaken a furious response from a Rostrevor team who powered in 3-01 in the final few minutes to pull clear.
Kieran Fearon, Jordan Fegan and Johnny Connolly scored the goals which finished the game off and gave Rostrevor their first win in the Championship group stages, but although it was comfortable in the end, Rostrevor know that they will have to push harder in the early stages to kill teams off.
Mon 15/8/11 - Rostrevor U14's 7-16, Mayobridge 2-04
The Under 14's picked up their third win from three in the championship following this victory over Mayobridge away. The result was never in doubt from about 15 minutes in when the reds had hit 2 goals and 5 points to 1 point and proceeded to lead at half time 5-10 to 0-01. Arghal McMahon with a first half hat-trick for the reds while Conal Gordan and Joe Morgan hit spectacular goals to add to it.
Mark Doyle, Peter Magee and James Rice all tagged on points for the reds in the first half as the dominance of Aaron Fearon, Nicky Murray and Tiarnan Tinnelly at half back kept the Bridge penned in their own half.
At half time, Rostrevor introduced Owen Farrell, Ryan O'Gorman, Tomas Gordan and Robert McMahon and these lads put in a tremendous shift with Owen Farrell hitting the net along with Peter Magee, while Ryan O'Gorman scored a point to add to one from Ryan Caulfield among others.
Cormac McGrath, Blaine McGrath and Nicky Murray were Rostrevors midfield players in the second half and they had a ding dong battle with the Bridge in the second period as the home side put up a spirited effort.
The match ended with the reds winning 7-16 to 2-04 with one game remaining in the group stages against Saval.
Rostrevor team: Ryan Caulfield, Mitchel McAteer, Cormac McGrath, James Donaghy, Tiarnan Tinnelly, Aaron Fearon, Nicky Murray, Joseph Morgan, Blaine McGrath, Peter Magee, Arghal McMahon, Lee Caldwell, Mark Doyle, Conal Gordan, James Rice, Subs used: Owen Farrell, Ryan O'Gorman, Tomas Gordan, Robert McMahon.
Sun 14/8/11 - Longstone Shield Winners
Congratulations to the Under 8 team who won the Longstone tournament shield at the weekend.

Mon 8/8/11 - Rostrevor U14's 6-23, Glenn 3-11
Two games and two wins for the Under 14's in the championship group stages and although this one turned out comfortable in the end it was anything but for 40 minutes as Glenn played with plenty spirit until the devestating Joe Morgan put them away with a hat-trick of goals.
It started well for Rostrevor with a goal and 2 points on the board early on but a series of missed chances, against a strong wind admittedly, allowed Glenn to gradually come back into the game with a goal and 4 points of their own to lead 1-4 to 1-2 after 20 minutes. The match was heating up and the midfield exchanges were quite competitive although the referee kept an excellent control of the game!!
The young reds started to find their feet with Arghal McMahon roving about the full forward line and a number of points were added to by a super goal from Conor Owens to leave Rostrevor 2-10 to 1-06 ahead at the break.
Glenn pushed hard at the start of the second half and scored a couple of nice points but the move of Joe Morgan to full forward saw the game finished in a short space of time. 3 balls went in to him and 3 goals were scored within 10 minutes and though Glenn replied with 2 of their own Rostrevor were now very much on top. Arghal McMahon, Conal Gordan, Mark Doyle, Lee Caldwell amongst others all added to the points tally while Aaron Fearon scored another goal to see the reds run out 6-23 to 3-11 winners.
There are 2 games remaining in the group stage against Mayobridge next week and then Saval. 2 wins will see Rostrevor top the group and qualify for the semi finals.
Rostrevor team: Mark Doyle, Mitchell McAteer, Cormac McGrath, James Donaghy, Nicky Murray, James Rice, Tiarnan Tinnelly, Joseph Morgan, Aaron Fearon, Peter Magee, Arghal McMahon, Jordan Cooper, Conor Owens, Conal Gordan, Blaine McGrath, Subs used: Owen Farrell, Tomas Gordan, Michael McNally, Ryan Caulfield
Mon 1/8/11 - Rostrevor U14's 3-17, Burren 1-07
The Under 14's had a great opening win in the South Down Champrionship group stages over Burren on Monday evening in Pettit Park. Peter Magee was the scoring supremo with 2 goals and 4 points although he was ably assisted by many other including Joe Morgan who hit the other goal, and Conal Gordan, Conor Owens, Blaine McGrath and Jordan Cooper who all hit points.
The match was won before half time when a succession of points helped Rostrevor to a 1-11 to 0-02 lead with the defence, including Cormac McGrath at full back in imperious form. Burren did come into it slightly towards the end but the reds had done all the hard work and look forward to a trip to Glenn next week.
Rostrevor team: A Magee, M McAteer, C McGrath, J Donaghy, N Murray, J Rice, T Tinnelly, J Morgan, A Fearon, P Magee, A McMahon, J Cooper, C Owens, C Gordan, B McGrath.

The Under 12's defeated Warrenpoint on Sunday in Pettit Park by 3.11 to 1.8. Rostrevor began the game well with Charlie McCartan scoring two early points. Mark Doyle also scored two fine points and points came from John Ferrick and Ryan Caulfield but Warrenpoint hit 5 points to leave Rostrevor leading by 6 points to 5 at half time.Rostrevor began the second half with 2 points from Charlie McCartan. Rostrevor were now winning plenty of the ball and this resulted in 2 goals by Charlie McCartan. Warrenpoint did not give up easily and were close to scoring a couple of goals before scoring a goal and 3 points to bring the teams closer. A goal by Tomas Gordon along with points by Conor Quinn and Ryan Caulfield sealed victory for Rostrevor. Rostrevor's panel was H.Morgan, J.Cooper, P.O'Connor, R.Caulfield, J.Ferrick, T.Gordon, M.Doyle, C.Quinn, O.Rice, E.Murdock, C.McCartan, E.Rice, D.Murray, D.McCourt.
Sat 30/7/11 - Under 8 Tournament

The U 8 s travelled to Annaclone on Saturday 30 th of july and participated in the Go Games 7 a side competition. There was a good mix of youth and experience in the squad with Mark Turley , Eoghan Mc Quillan and Stephen Reid all gaining their debuts in the competition and all performing admirably. In the midfield sector Rostrevor were always going to be strong and hard to overcome with big men like Sean Scullion, Rory o Hare, and Leo Maginess in the middle of the action. The tireless Patrick Sloan covered every part of the pitch and the reliable left foot of Daniel Mc Quillian were both instrumental in two great victories over Shamrocks and Warrenpoint. Finn Murdock also put in Man of the Match performances between the posts with some serious shot stopping and finally newcomer to the squad the youthful Amy Maginess showed up a lot of the boys with her high fielding and long kicks.
The Annual Under 10 Fiddler's Green Tournament also took place on Saturday 30th July.

Tue 28/7/11 - Rostrevor Minors 5-13, Warrenpoint 0-07
Rostrevor continued their quest at the top of the table with this comfortable victory over Warrenpoint in Pettit Park. The victory was founded in the first half as the reds hit 4 goals and 7 points in the opening period to leave themselves well clear at the break. The goals were class moves, ending with Caolan Mooney on 2 of them while Patrick Morgan and Jordan Fegan hit the other 2. Tomas Mulholland was dominating midfield while Darren McElhinney and Liam Fegan were cleaning up at the back.
The second half was a bit more pedestrian from both sides, with Rostrevor just managing to put a burst on towards the end which saw Patrick Morgan score his second goal to leave it 5-13 to 0-07 at the finish.
Rostrevor have one game left in the league, a tough one away to Clonduff, and victory will see them lift the All County Minor League title.
Tue 5/7/11 - MINORS FIND THEIR TOUCH TO SEE OFF 'DUFF CHALLENGE
ROSTREVOR 4-15 - 1-07 CARRYDUFF
By Kieran McNally
A strong second half performance saw Rostrevor finally dispatch of a gallant Carryduff side at Pettit Park in Tuesday evening's minor championship opener. For long periods of the opening half, it was the North Down lads who were in the ascendancy playing with the better confidence, however, when you can introduce a prodigious talent such as Caolan Mooney in times of trouble, it is a massive boost to your chances. It was arguably the defining switch in this contest as a double-salvo of goals from the Down star shortly after half time put the Reds in total contol when the game was in the balance.

The scoreline was maybe a bit harsh on a Carryduff side that battled bravely as underdogs in this and had Rostrevor in a real sweat at times, especially in the first half. When Rostrevor took the lead through Tómas Mulholland after a minute of play, it seemed as though the Reds would live-up to their favourites tag but a combination of dogged defending and efficient attacking soon put the 'Duff into real contention. Niall McArdle levelled the sides on 4 minutes with a Conor Cassidy effort giving the visitors the lead a minute later. In the opening exchanges, Rostrevor were seemingly comfortable in penetrating the Carryduff defence and a lot of ball was being won inside by Patrick Morgan but for all this, the Reds could not find the target and if it wasn't for Pádraig McGrath's point-blank save, the hosts could have found themselves in real danger. Carryduff would eventually be the next side to raise the white flag on 18 minutes; Rory McGrath the scorer.
Rostrevor needed something to settle them in front of the posts and Ryan Cousins provided this with two scores in a minute to level the sides for a second time, the first from a free. Despite this, Carryduff would answer back immediately with Niall McArdle landing a point of real individual quality to leave it at Carryduff 0-04 Rostrevor 0-03. With Down in qualifier action this Saturday against Leitrim, Caolan Mooney was only on the bench for Rostrevor but with his side struggling for firepower, he was introduced on 25 minutes and the impact his presence had on the side was vital. Sean Cooper brought the Reds back on terms, seconds after the switch before a Patrick Morgan shot, deflected over by 'Duff keeper James Lavery, gave Rostrevor the lead for the first time since Mulholland's strike in the opening seconds; a one point lead the Reds would bring into the interval.
HALF TIME - ROSTREVOR 0-05 - 0-04 CARRYDUFF
Throughout the opening 30 minutes, Rostrevor had their chances to put themselves in command but mistakes in possession and some poor finishing meant that the team were in real danger against this hard-working Carryduff outfit. It was hard to believe that a mere six minutes after the restart, the game was over as a real contest. Patrick Morgan and Piaras Kane extended the lead to three with quickfire points before Caolan Mooney struck. With typical power, the Collingwood-bound man burst in from the left to lash in the first goal of the game on 35 minutes to leave the score at 1-07 to 0-04. In an unbelievable turn of events, the same man found himself on the end of a marvellous move forty seconds later to palm in under the crossbar to give the Reds a sudden nine point advantage; the visitors were stunned. To their credit, Carryduff were not going to allow the heads to drop that easily and provided a reply to this critical blow. Peter Lavery's point narrowed the gap and then came a goal of outstanding quality from James Lawlor. After another effort from Lavery had hit the post, Lawlor dummied his way through to crash an unstoppable effort into the roof of the net from 20 yards to bring his side back to within 5 points.
However, the Reds were now starting to find their touch and eased clear once more. Mooney received a pass from a quick '45 to float over from range on 43 minutes also adding a fisted effort on 44 and a free on 46 minutes to push Rostrevor eight clear again; his job was done and he was substituted shortly after to an appreciative reception from the Red supporters. Ryan Cousins pounced to find the net a minute later after Sean Cooper saw his attempt come back off the post and Patrick Morgan added another major on 50 when he found the corner of the net from close range to put Rostrevor out of sight. Two scores from the impressive Niall McArdle were the only response Carryduff could muster as the Reds dominated the final ten minutes. Damien Keenan's brace put Rostrevor into a 14 point lead with Kieran Fearon extending the lead moments later. Ryan Cousins added a free on 56 minutes before Fearon closed the scoring two minutes from time with a left-footed strike. Rostrevor were safely through to the next round of the Down Minor Championship, coming good after an indifferent opening half. Hopefully the young Reds can now move forward and try to emulate the successes of the great minor sides of recent years who went on to claim championship honours.
ROSTREVOR TEAM; Pádraig McGrath, Pearse Magee, Liam Fegan, Evan Connolly, Paul Morgan, Martin Grant, Darren McIlhenny, Tómas Mulholland (0-1), Damien Keenan (0-2), Piaras Kane (0-1), Lee Clerkin, Ryan Cousins (1-03 2f), Sean Cooper (0-1), Patrick Morgan (1-2), Kieran Fearon (0-2). Sub used, Caolan Mooney (2-3 1f)
Mon 4/7/11 - Rostrevor U14's 3-10, Warrenpoint 4-12
The under 14's suffered defeat in the runner up playoff match when Warrenpoint proved too strong in Moygannon on a fine evening. Warrenpoint had the wind in the first half but with 10 minutes to go to half time it was still anybodys game with the scores 1-4 to 1-3 for the Point. The last 10 minutes proved vital however as the blues took control and scored 5 points to 1 in this period to go in 1-9 to 1-4 up at the break, Joe Morgan with a goal and 2 points for Rostrevor.
The second half started even worse for the reds when after a couple of points each, an effort from the Point dropped into the net from long range to leave it 2-12 to 1-6. Rostrevor replied with a goal from Joe Morgan before 2 more goals on the break for Warrenpoint left a sizeable margin in it. Conal Gordan moved to the edge of the square and this move seemed to galvanise the reds with Gordan causing havoc. He got a goal and point himself, and with Joe Morgan and Conor Owens adding further points, 3 near near misses for goal meant the reds just could not get back on terms.
It was too little too late from the young reds but they showed in the last 15 minutes what they were capable off when things click. Joe Morgan yet again had a powerful performance scoring 2 goals and 6 points, with Conal Gordan 1-1 really coming into it when he moved into full forward. James Rice and Nicky Murray had terrific battles with their men in defence while a mention to Tomas Gordan who came on at corner back at half time for his first game at U14 and who did very well.
Team: Aidan Magee, Tiarnan Tinnelly, James Rice, Michael McNally, Jordan Cooper, Conal Gordan (1-1), Nicky Murray, Joe Morgan (2-6), Aaron Fearon, Ryan O'Gorman, Arghal McMahon (0-1), Lee Caldwell, Conor Owens (0-1), Blaine McGrath (0-1), Owen Farrell, Subs used: Cormac McGrath, Tomas Gordan.
Thu 30/6/11 - Rostrevor U16's 2-11, Saval 0-06
The Under 16's continued their winning ways with a home win over Saval in the league thanks to a late two goals from Gareth Caulfield and the returning Piaras Kane. Although the game was close for most of the hour, Rostrevor were always the dominant side with Damian Keenan in full back particularly impressive.
The reds led 5 points to 3 at half time after missing a series of chances, and the second half went along pretty much the same lines with the lead gradually extending to 5 then 6 points. Saval did threaten briefly towards the end when they started looking for goals but Declan McAteer was assured under the high ball and the late 2 goals finally killed Saval off.
Rostrevor continue then at the top of the table, and with players like Piaras Kane returning from injury hopefully they can continue this form for the rest of the year.
Tue 28/6/11 - ROSTREVOR MINORS CLAIM A MAJOR LEAGUE WIN OVER RIVALS
ROSTREVOR 1-22 - 2-12 NEWRY SHAMROCKS
By Kieran McNally
Match-winning performances from Pádraig McGrath and Caolan Mooney helped Rostrevor minors to a crucial win over title-rivals Newry Shamrocks in a compelling encounter at Pettit Park. On no fewer than five occasions, Reds' keeper McGrath thwarted the Newry forwards with outstanding saves, displaying great concentration and bravery. With Pádraig's exemplary form and Mooney notching 1-08, all from play, Rostrevor's claim to win this clash was always going to be a successful one. Credit must also go to the Shamrocks, as their young guns battled back time and time again, adding great enjoyment to this one. Both sides came into the clash with a full compliment of points, although the Shamrocks had played a game less, so this match had the billing and the contest certainly lived up to that with an amazing 36 of the 37 scores coming from play.

Rostrevor started well and had raced into a 1-03 to 0-00 lead the opening six minutes. Darren McIlhenney opened the Reds' account in the third minute with a score from range, setting the tone for the entire match. Caolan Mooney double the lead seconds later with a good point after a surging run. The same man was at it again in the fifth minute, this time opting to go low, burying his shot into the corner of the Shamrocks net to extend the lead to five. When Patrick Morgan split the posts from the right side a minute later, there was a feeling that Rostrevor were going to romp to an easy win; Shamrocks had different ideas though. Johnny Brown got his side off the mark on seven minutes and they would go on to dominate the next ten as they battled back into contention. Ryan Cousins fired over for Rostrevor, providing a reprieve before a great score by Jack Haughey closed the deficit back to 5. It was then that the boys from Newry received a timely boost. Dean McKeown received the ball out wide on the left before cutting inside to fire a daisy-cutter in at Pádraig McGrath's near post to leave the score at 1-04 to 1-02 on 12 minutes; it was game on. Conor Donnelly brought his side back to within one but again it was Mooney who answered back as he surged down the field to pick off one of the scores of the evening. Shamrocks struck again though moments later.
Shane Lundy angled over a point to narrow the gap again before Michael Maguire raced onto a loose ball, after hard work from McKeown on the left, to hammer high to the net past the rooted McGrath to give Shamrocks the lead for the first time on 21 minutes; 2-04 to 1-05. Rostrevor, to their credit, refused to lie down after this and reeled off five unanswered points to carry the lead into the break. Mooney received an awkward ball well to steady the Reds back into their rhythm with Patrick Morgan levelling seconds later with another finely cut effort from his right side. Tómas Mulholland gave Rostrevor the lead on 28 minutes with an improvised score over his shoulder and Caolan Mooney's long-range effort pushed the Reds two in front. Liam Fegan then fired over a brilliant score to ensure that Rostrevor entered the break in fine form and with a three point lead after an entertaining half.
HALF TIME - ROSTREVOR 1-10 - 2-04 NEWRY SHAMROCKS
Caolan Mooney extended the Reds' advantage right on the restart with another burst through the middle before Jack Haughey brought the Shamrocks their first score in twelve minutes of play to cancel out the county star's effort. Shamrocks, three points in arrears, then set out for a goal that would level the contest only to find McGrath in inspired form, twice denying the City side definite goals with his from both McKeown and Haughey in a pulsating period of end-to-end action. The sides exchanged scores during this time with Caolan Magee and Patrick Morgan, for the Reds, and Oisin Lynch and Michael Maguire of the Shamrocks finding their range. With the Newry outfit, working themselves deep into Rostrevor territory on numerous occasions in search of goals, their attacks constantly broke down in a swarm of Red with Martin Grant and the impressive Damien Keenan denying Maguire a real goal chance on 43 minutes. These turnovers allowed Rostrevor to supply the ammunition into their on-song forwards and a purple patch saw Rostrevor ease clear by the 50th minute.
Jordan Fegan carried the ball upfield from defence to split the posts with an outstanding effort before Mooney added a powerful strike from range to extend the lead to five. The same man, whose influence in attack was vital, provided yet another score to bring the Reds six clear with ten minutes remaining. Shane Lundy sent over a towering point to temporarily stop the Red raid but his endeavours were cancelled out by quick-fire scores from Kieran Fearon and Patrick Morgan to stretch the lead to seven; 1-18 - 2-08. However, Shamrocks rallied and sent over three unanswered points from a Shane Lundy brace, one of these scores from the placed ball, and a Johnny Brown effort from well out the field. Once again, though, the ever-reliable Mooney sent Rostrevor into a four-point lead with a tidy fisted point entering injury time; and what a barnstorming period it proved to be. With Shamrocks in dire need of a goal, they threw everything at the young Reds and it took a magnificent save from McGrath to keep out a point blank strike from Harry Morgan before he saved another effort with his legs, as time began to run out on the visitors. Fergal McEvoy pointed to leave three between the sides deep in to stoppage time but with their challenge running out of steam, Rostrevor reeled off three more scores in the closing minutes from Ryan Cousins, Caolan Magee and Jordan Fegan to seal a precious win. Particularly impressive for Rostrevor were; Damien Keenan, Jordan Fegan, Patrick Morgan, the outstanding Caolan Mooney and man-of-the-match Pádraig McGrath. Meanwhile, the dangerous Dean McKeown, Shane Lundy and Jack Haughey all had their moments of brilliance for the visitors. This victory puts Rostrevor into a commanding position in the table and their destiny, as regards the title, is in their own hands and based on this performance, the Reds will be considered favourites to claim the silverware.
ROSTREVOR MINORS; Pádraig McGrath, Pearse Magee, Liam Fegan (0-1), Evan Connolly, Paul Morgan, Martin Grant, Darren McIlhenney (0-1), Damien Keenan, Tómas Mulholland (0-1), Jordan Fegan (0-2), Caolan Mooney (1-8), Ryan Cousins (0-2), Caolan Magee (0-2), Patrick Morgan (0-4), Kieran Fearon (0-1). Sat 25/6/11 - Under 10's v Bryansford
On Saturday 25th June the Under 10 panel travelled to Newcastle to play Bryansford in a friendly match. Played in perfect conditons the young reds produced their best football of the year and excelled in the wide open spaces of St. Patrick's Park. In four periods of 10 minutes Rostrevor were competitive throughout and pipped their opponents in the end for a well deserved victory. In defence Fionnan Cooper and Oisin Kelly were outstanding and were ably assisted by Adam Morgan, James Devlin and Charlie Tinnelly. In nets Ronan Williamson was solid and his kickouts were long and accurate. In midfield Patrick Magee, Eoghan Devlin and Daragh McCourt worked hard for the entire match. Up front Conor Johnson, Conor Turley, Declan McClean, Ryan Toal and Callum Tinnelly were busy and gave the Bryansforsd defenders plenty to think about. The boys were rewarded with an ice-cream afterwards courtesy of Tony Williamson....Thanks Tony...after all thats what you have to do when you visit Newcastle!!!!
Mon 20/6/11 - Rostrevor U14's 6-17, Mayobridge 5-03
The Under 14's got back to winning ways with this super win over Mayobridge in Pettit Park.
The reds put in a stunning second half performance after a shaky second quarter saw the Bridge score a number of goals and really threaten to make a game of it. However, with Joe Morgan in scintillating form (3-08), the Bridge were never going to get close enough to cause a shock.
Rostrevor dominated throughout with Conal Gordan and Joe Morgan teaming up to good effect in midfield. Apart from the second quarter, James Rice and Nicky Murray helped the defence to generally come out on top with Nicky Murray scoring a spectacular goal, taking it round about 4 men before finishing. Arghal McMahon, Conor Owens and Blaine McGrath had good games up front.
This result actually leaves Rostrevor and Warrenpoint tied for second place in the league and means they will have to play off for runner up spot in the coming weeks.
Rostrevor team was: Aidan Magee, Mitchell McAteer, James Rice, James Donaghy, Tiarnan Tinnelly, Aaron Fearon, Nicky Murray, Joe Morgan, Conal Gordan, Jordan Cooper, Arghal McMahon, Lee Caldwell, Conor Owens, Blaine McGrath, Conor Milligan, Subs used: Ryan O'Gorman, Conor McClelland, Michael McNally, Owen Farrell, Gareth Doyle.
Rostrevor scorers: Joe Morgan 3-08, Blaine McGrath 1-01, Conal Gordan 1-01, Arghal McMahon 0-03, Conor Owens 0-03, Nicky Murray 1-00, Jordan Cooper 0-01.
Mon 13/6/11 - Rostrevor U14's 1-8, Newry Shamrocks 6-13
Rostrevor were defeated by a super charged Newry Shamrocks team in the game played in the big field in Newry on Tuesday night. Shamrocks actually won the league with this victory having won all their games in the league to date, with only one remaining.
It was hard to take for the young reds who have a super campaign so far but up against the team who defeated them in the County Feile final, they found the going too much, in the first half particularly.
The reds did improve significantly after the break with Conor Owens, Blaine McGrath, Conal Gordan and Joe Morgan all getting points, while Arghal McMahon scored a goal. They also could have had a number of additional goals only for good last ditch tackles from the Shamrocks.
Although it was the hardest game they have had all year, the players never gave up and now realise that against teams like this you have to be on top form in order to compete. The lads now move on with one game left in the league against Mayobridge and need a win to have a chance of finishing second in the league.

Mon 30/5/11 - Rostrevor U14's 4-10, Clonduff 2-11
Rostrevor defeated Clonduff in yet another entertaining under 14 game when Arghal McMahon scored a second half hat-trick to take the reds from 6 points down to win by 5 points in the end.
With the game 5 all at half time, and Conal Gordan off with a knock before the break, Rostrevor had it all to do in the second half. It got worse for them 10 minutes in following 2 goals from Clonduff that saw them go 6 points clear and only some fine saves from Aidan Magee kept the reds in the game.
Conal Gordan then made a surprise return to the game, at full forward, having started the game in full back, and his presence there along with the move of Arghal McMahon caused mayhem in the Clonduff defence. Gordan set up all 4 goals in the last 20 minutes, 3 of which were scored by Arghal McMahon with the other scored by Robert McMahon, and the reds eased home 5 points to the good.
There were some terrific performances from Conal Gordan and Arghal McMahon, Joe Morgan, Pete Magee, Nicky Murray, James Donaghy and Aaron Fearon in full back.
Scorers were: A McMahon 3-1, Joe Morgan 0-5, Robert McMahon 1-0, Aaron Fearon, Blain McGrath, Pete Magee, James Rice (0-1 each).
Sun 29/5/11 - Rostrevor U12's 0-06, Mayobridge 7-09
The Under 12's were given a footballing lesson by Mayobridge in ideal conditions in Pettit Park on Sunday. Mayobridge won by 7.9 to 0.6. Rostrevor played very poorly with Eoin Rice, Niall Carville, Tomas Gordon and Henry Morgan the only Rostrevor players to play well. Too many Rostrevor players marked poorly and did not work hard enough to trouble Mayobridge.
Mon 23/5/11 - Rostrevor U14's 3-10, Warrenpoint 3-10
The Under 14's had a great match with neighbours Warrenpoint on Monday evening when a late comeback from the Point saw the match finish in a draw.
These 2 teams are joint second in the league and it was always going to be a tight match. Rostrevor played especially well in the first 20 minutes of the second half to go 3-10 to 2-09 up, but 2 late goals for and point for the visitors levelled it. Rostrevor had some great performances with Joe Morgan back on form and Arghal McMahon scoring the goal of the year so far. The scorers were Joe Morgan 1-06, Blaine McGrath 1-01, Arghal McMahon 1-00, Aaron Fearon 0-02 and Conor Owens 0-01.

Peter Magee takes his man on against Warrenpoint
Sun 22/5/11 - Rostrevor U12's 2-05, Ballyholland 1-10
The Under 12's were beaten by 2 points by Ballyholland on Sunday. Played in a dry but windy Ballyholland, the score was 1.10 to 2.5.
Rostrevor began the game well and scored 4 points in the first half with Charlie McCartan scoring two and the other two from Eoin Murdock and Conor Quinn. However, Ballyholland made better use of their possession and scored a goal and five points to lead at half-time. Rostrevor battled hard in the second half with Eoin Murdock scoring a goal before David Corkey helped Eoin Rice's shot over the line for a second Rostrevor goal. Eoin Rice added another point but Ballyholland scored 5 points in the second half to win by two points. Rostrevor panel was: T.Gordon, N.Carville, H.Morgan, J.Cooper, R.Caulfield, M.Doyle, C.Quinn, E.Rice, D.Corkey, C.McCartan, E.Murdock, P.O'Connor, R.Doyle, O.Rice and C.Killen
Sun 8/5/11 - Rostrevor U12's 2-08, Warrenpoint U12's 1-04
The Under 12's made a great start in the Under 12 League by beating Warrenpoint 2.8 to 1.4 in Warrenpoint. This was a great team performance from Rostrevor. Three points from Charlie McCartan as well as points from Eoin Murdock and John Ferrick put Rostrevor 5 points ahead just before half-time but a goal by Warrenpoint a minute before half-time reduced Rostrevor's lead to a point. Rostrevor continued to battle hard in the second half and were rewarded with goals from Eoin Murdock and Henry Morgan. Two more points from Charlie McCartan and one from Conor Quinn left Rostrevor deserving winners. The Rostrevor defence also did very well with Warenpoint only scoring 3 points in the second half although Rostrecor goalkeeper, Eoin Rice, made some very important saves. Rostrevor panel was: E.Rice, N.Carville, J.Cooper, T.Gordon, J.Ferrick, M.Doyle, C.Quinn, D.Corkey, H.Morgan, E.Murdock, C.McCartan, P.O'Connor, O.Rice, D.Murray, R.Doyle and J.McAleenan
Mon 2/5/11 - Under 8's season starts

The U 8 travelled to their first tournament of the year in Ballymartin on Saturday 30th of April . There was a great turn out of both players and mums and dads on the windswept plains of Mourne. All of the squad got a run out many young guns got their first experience of match day.

Mon 2/5/11 - Rostrevor U14's 5-21 (36), Burren U14's 8-08 (32)

In an amazing game of football, Rostrevor came out on top in a high scoring encounter in Pettit Park. Burren started well and had 2 goals on the board before Rostrevor got going. Rostrevor replied with a goal of their own through Jordan Cooper before Peter Magee hit a screamer to put the reds in front. Rostrevor then proceeded to hit points for fun and at half time it was 3-9 to 2-3 for Rostrevor. The second half saw Burren start well again before a procession of points from Rostrevor put them well clear. Burren responded with a couple of goals before it all got a bit crazy as goals and points were being scored from all directions from both teams with Rostrevor still that bit in front at the final whistle. Peter Magee scored 2-6 from play, with Aaron Fearon 1-4, Conal Gordan 1-2, Jordan Cooper 1-1, Joe Morgan 0-3, Blaine McGrath 0-2, Conor Owens 0-2 and Nicky Murray 0-1 being the other scorers.
Sun 1/5/11 - Under 12 Blitz
Our Under 12 team took part in a Blitz on Sunday in Pettit Park. Annaclone, Longstone and Mayobridge were the other teams in the Blitz which was played in very windy conditions. Rostrevor struggled to play any decent football in this Blitz and will need to make a big improvement for the start of the Under 12 League next Sunday.
Thu 21/4/11 - Rostrevor U16's 4-11, Saval U16's 3-03
Rostrevor gained a hard fought win against a strong Saval team in their second league game of the year. The score line does not reflect how close this game was as Saval missed numerous opportunities to close the gap between the two sides. The Reds worked tirelessly as a team to earn two hard earned points against a Saval team who would have big aspirations for the year. A mention must to go young Aaron Fearon who made he U16 debut last night in the second half and he contributed with a well taken point which helped Rostrevor to victory.
Mon 19/4/11 - Rostrevor U14's 4-06, Clonduff U14's 3-12
Rostrevor suffered their first defeat of the year in this high scoring match away to Clonduff. Yet again Rostrevor found themselves making a late charge to try an salvage something as they came from 9 points down to lose by just a goal at the final whistle. The lads did put up a mighty effort in those last 10 minutes but the first 40 or 50 minutes they allowed Clonduff to control the game and this where improvements need to made. Scorers were Blaine McGrath 2-1, Joe Morgan, 1-2, Peter Magee 1-0, Conal Gordan, Ardghal McMahon and Lee Caldwell 0-1 each.
Sun 18/4/11 - Under 12's Blitz
The Under 12's took part in their fourth blitz on Sunday. This blitz was hosted by Shamrocks and was held in Pairc Esler which gave the boys the chance to play in one of the top pitches in Ireland. Daniel Murray will certainly remember this blitz as he scored his first goal for Rostrevor. We played matches against Shamrocks, Bosco, Atticall, Saval and Burren. Thanks to Shamrocks for a very well organised blitz.
Thu 14/4/11 - Rostrevor U16's 4-16, Warrenpoint U16's 1-09
Rostrevor made it a double over Warrenpoint at underage level with a decent win over their neighbours. The Reds played some good football in the first half while the second half was made of harder stuff as Warrenpoint started to put up a bigger fight. Goals at vital times proved the difference between the two sides with solid performances from Patrick Murray, Paul Morgan and Sean Cooper.

They produced a marvellous last 15 minutes coming from 7 points down to win by 4, with the star of the show being Joe Morgan, who scored 2-05 in total. They started with a victory over Bryansford, 2-09 to 0-1, before beating Carryduff 2-06 to 1-03. With 2 teams going through, the final game against Newry Shamrocks was to see who would top the group as they had also won 2 from 2. Shamrocks came through it 2-02 to 0-03 so Rostrevor qualified in second place. The semi final line up is: Rostrevor v Burren and Shamrocks v Warrenpoint on 7th May. 4 South Down teams into the finals so it highlights how difficult the South Down U14 league will be this year. Well done to the young reds.

It was a good run out for the reds who played some sparkling football at times with a number of players getting on the scoresheet including Tiernan Tinnelly (2-1), Blaine McGrath (0-5), Aidan Magee (1-0) and Christopher Clerkin (0-1) among others. St Colman's Newry (Holders) 2-9 St Patrick's, Dungannon 2-8
(report from Ulster colleges GAA website)
The 2011 BT MacRory final will be remembered for 2 superb goals from Australia-bound Caolan Mooney, as well as some excellent team play from both sides.
Mooney illustrated the huge loss he will be to Down and to football in general when he departs for Collingwood in the summer with 2-2 from play, his goals coming at pivotal points in this superb contest.
The Academy had opened brightly and led 0-4 to 0-1 at the end of the first quarter. St Colman’s needed to get a grip of the game.
Jerome Johnstone played Mooney in on the left wing. A fisted point was an option, but the Rostrevor clubman wanted a goal and he stepped inside to drill it to the top corner of the net.
At the same point of the second half and in similar circumstances – the Academy picking off 3 good points in the third quarter – Mooney struck for his second.
This time Johnstone played the ball in to team captain Conor Gough who laid it off to Mooney coming down the centre at full-pace.
He burst through the tackle and was one-on-one with Mark McReynolds. This time he fired the shot across the goalie at a lower trajectory and into the corner of the net.
Modestly Mooney talked about the team and panel contribution at the final whistle.
“There are 38 in our panel, including the 4 teachers. We are all in it together. Everyone is leader, everyone is expected to step up to the mark.”
“I loved playing in the game – I got an injury shortly after the second goal, but still enjoyed it as a game, as an occasion.”
This was the fourth time that St Colman’s have collected back to back titles and the aim now is back-to-back Hogans.
“The school has never done back to back Hogans. We will train on Saturday morning, on the pitch for 9.30am. There is more work to be done.”
Despite Mooney’s immense personal contribution, the Iggy Jones Player of the Match went to Niall Donnelly at full-back, a player who might well have been in defence for the Down under 21s the previous evening.
Conor Gough was also a rock at midfield, while Shay McArdle and Jack Haughey contributed well in the second half.
Coach Cathal Murray talked about a range of emotions during and after the match.
“You’re kicking every ball with them, throwing your hands in frustration at every foul. But this is a special bunch of players. You saw that in the maturity of them in holding on to the ball in the last 60 odd seconds.”
“They dug deep and you cannot coach some of the things they gave today. They are mentally strong and the injury time win here in the semi-final helped us.”
The Academy though contributed immensely to an entertaining game for the neutral – if there were any in the crowd of almost 5,000.
The Academy shaded the first half, a great goal from Harry óg Conlon a 20thminute response to Mooney’s pile-driver.
But they were also unlucky with goal chances shunned by Lavery and Gervin, while the latter, played in by Morgan and Lavery after just 8 minutes, crashed the ball off the inside of the post and back into Niall Donnelly’s arms.
Sean Quinn, Mooney’s marker, worked very hard and even got up to take a delightful point after the break, immediately after similarly brilliant scores from Liam Girvan and Ryan Devlin.
But Mooney’s second goal put St Colman’s in control. 15-year-old Jack Haughey pointed after a good run and the gap moved to 4 as sub Patrick Morgan punched over in the 52nd minute.
The Academy brought in Aidan McGarrity as part of a double-substitution in the 50th minute and Rock clubman did well to side-step two players and crash home a 58th minute goal, following good approach work by Harry óg Conlon.
Shay McArdle though won an important turnover in the next minute, played a one-two with Jack Haughey and eased Newry nerves with a point.
Although Girvan added a free as the game went into injury time, the 19th title was safe for St Colman’s
